Group classes consist of six weekly classes, held on the same day and time each week unless a break is mentioned (e.g. holiday). Each class session will be approximately 50 minutes long.
The PetSaver™ Pet CPR/First Aid class consists of one, (approximately) eight-hour workshop on a single day. Breaks are included. In some instances the PetSaver™ class may be scheduled as two sessions on consecutive days.
Mini-courses and seminars consist of one or more sessions, depending on the information and techniques covered. Each class session will be approximately 50 minutes long unless otherwise noted in the scheduling.
Payments for group classes and mini-courses are due in full before your first class. Class spaces are not held or guaranteed unless and until payment in full is made.
In many instances we maintain a waiting list. If you are a “No-call/no-show” on the first class your spot will be given to someone on the list unless you’ve already paid your class fee. No refunds will be given for missed classes.
Sign ups and payments can be made online through our secure payment gateway, or in person. Payments may be made via:

- PayPal and PayPal Credit (Pay Later) through the website.

Please understand that I keep class sizes small so that you get more personalized attention. Reserving your spot means someone else misses out. No refunds will be given for cancellations received within seven (7) calendar days or less of the first class. Full cancellation requests must be received a minimum of 7 calendar days or more before the week #1 class to receive a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee for group classes, or $5 for mini-courses. In the unfortunate event of your pet’s death or a separation of ownership, refunds for remaining classes will be refunded at the rate of $15 per class. All requests for refunds or credits may take up to 30 days to process.
A minimum of three dogs is required to run a group class with the exception of the PetSaver™ class, The CPR/First Aid course, or our seminars where dogs do not attend. In the event the attendance minimum is not met, you may use your payment to reserve a spot in a later scheduled class. In the event of a class cancellation you will receive a full refund for any fees paid for that class. Unless otherwise noted in the course description, there are no minimum attendance requirements for mini-courses.
All dogs in classes are required to have a current rabies vaccination certificate. The core vaccinations—parvovirus, distemper, and parainfluenza—are required to be current as well. These will all need to be verified before the start of the first class. You may bring your records with you, or have your vet fax them to (607) 767-6608.
Plan spays or neuters carefully around your intended class schedule. Dogs that have just been spayed or neutered are typically not allowed full activity for a full 7 to 10 days (or more in some cases) from the day of surgery. Therefore, dogs that have just been spayed or neutered will not be allowed in class until a minimum of seven days after their procedure.
Dogs in heat may not attend group classes. For your unspayed dog, please plan class time around heat cycles.
Group classes are not appropriate for reactive or aggressive dogs. Please contact me to discuss training options.
If you need to miss a class, it is possible for a makeup. However, contact is required. I understand that emergencies may arise, so you will need to call or email prior to or up to 24 hours after the missed class. It may be possible to schedule a 1/2 hour makeup session to go over the material, though this is contingent on an open spot on the schedule and it is not guaranteed. No-call-no-shows, therefore, will simply lose that class.
Group class and mini-course fees are not transferable to private training, and vice versa.
You may repeat a class, if you so desire, at a discounted rate. Some folks feel like they and their dog could use the additional practice and coaching before moving on. In such a case, puppy classes run $60 per class and adolescent/adult classes run $80 per class. You are entitled to all six weeks, of course. Please understand that this nominal fee is necessary since you are taking a class spot that could go to another dog owner.
