Classes
Group classes are conducted indoors, in a safe, welcoming, dog-centric setting in Big Flats, NY. I keep classes sizes small so that you and your dog get individualized attention.
While private training has its benefits, group classes hold a lot of merit too:
- Greater socialization with people and other dogs.
- A chance to practice around distractions and learn how to manage them.
- Greater opportunity for differentiation and growing your “training toolbox.”
- Fun, friendly, and family-inclusive.
- All breeds and sizes welcome!
- A place to make new friends, both human and canine!
Classes meet once per week.
All of the group class offerings are built around solid scientific study on how dogs learn. The class structure is informed by our experience, along with recommendations by top behaviorists and veterinarians. Additionally, we have taught nearly every kind of dog at one time or another. All breeds, sizes, and ages are welcome in class!
Please don’t be embarrassed about a barker or a jumper, or your lovable but crazy whackadoo. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! That’s what these classes are for!

Puppy Level 1
For puppies 10 to 18 weeks. Enjoy your puppy without stress! Let’s socialize your puppy to people and other dogs and prevent common behavior problems such as puppy biting, jumping up, pulling on the leash, and off-leash control. Basic behaviors like come, sit, settle down, and shush round out the repertoire. Class includes our “Potty Training Decoded” eBook and our “Puppy Principles” eBook. Get started on the right paw!
Class Fee: $160 including sales tax
Prerequisites: None.
Requirements: First two rounds of DHLPP or DHPP. The second round must have been administered after 8 weeks of age, but at least 5 to 7 days prior to the first session of class.
Basic Level
For dogs 19 weeks and older. This is a great class for dogs who have never had training before, or who need a solid refresher. This is great for newly adopted dogs of any age (or breed!). We help you develop strong communication tools, motivation, and attention from your dog, along with basic obedience skills. We’ll also give you templates for dealing with annoying behaviors like jumping and pulling. Class includes our “Beginning Manners & Obedience Manual” eBook. Come build your bond with us!
Class Fee: $160 including sales tax
Prerequisites: For quiet, friendly dogs. Reactive and/or otherwise disruptive dogs will need private training.
Requirements: Current DHLPP or DHPP and current rabies.
Pet CPR and First Aid
A one-day course giving you all the skills and practice you’ll need to assess any situation, administer the necessary help to the animal, and provide support. Includes training on CPR, bleeding management, choking, and more. For pet owners, pet professionals, and medical staff looking to expand their skills and knowledge.
Class Fee: $120 before sales tax (includes handbook)
Prerequisites: None; open to all!
Requirements: No dogs at this one; just humans!
