Offering a reward before a behavior with the hopes of enticing an otherwise unwilling dog to perform. Bribing will create dependency on the reward (usually food) and will become a crutch that’s very hard to fade. A classic example is the owner who waggles a treat in front of their dog’s nose hoping to coerce the dog to do something.
