A sound or word that carries value due to pairing with a primary reinforcer (specifically food or a toy). Hearing the CR tends to create the same emotional response that getting the actual reward does, and facilitates our training and communication. At Simpawtico, our markers “Yes” and “Good” are conditioned reinforcers.
