We’ve talked many times about how you can layer reinforcers over each other to create massive reward. Our concept of Modular Reward Events is based around this.

As such, one of those layers is the ways in which we pet and stroke our dogs in order to light their brains up. By paying attention to the ways in which dogs generally prefer to be touched, we can maximize the amount of reinforcement we’re applying to particular event.
