The removal of a pleasant stimulus in order to reduce the frequency of an unwanted behavior. A common example is when we quickly step away from a jumping dog. Jumping has resulted in the moving away of the person they’re trying to access, thus jumping becomes increasingly less likely to happen again. P- is one of the quadrants of Operant Conditioning.
