A process of Capturing specific behaviors during a setup scenario. This is one of the easiest training methods we use. AONRT is most useful for a dog where Lure-Reward Training is ineffective. Because it’s a very low-stress, non-confrontational method it’s a good choice for reactive, high arousal behaviors or for dogs with very little focus. The down side of AONRT is that it’s much harder to put the behavior on cue. You have to capture it. You have to practice this enough times to get the behavior’s frequency high enough to predictably and preemptively condition a prompt.
