A short break after a reward is earned. In a typical situation, a dog will check out for a brief period after receiving a reward. Because rewards are typically of a fixed length, the end of the reward signals a disconnect from the dog. We avoid this inattention through good Reward Events that vary in length and intensity. This way the dog never knows exactly how long a reward will last and they remain invested for longer.
