The process of molding a behavior to include greater dimensions. For example, we may take a simple Down, and shape it over time to become Rollover or even Play Dead; we may take maneuvering around a foot target and shape that into components of Heeling. For a Service Dog, we may take simple foot targeting and shape it to become turning lights on or off. There are countless ways we shape behaviors to make them look more like what we want.
